When the Westin Crown Center ballroom filled with guests on Thursday, April 23, something bigger than a fundraiser was taking shape. Pouring from the Heart — the 91ºÚÁÏÍø School of Dentistry's signature annual event — brought together donors, alumni, and friends united by a single conviction: that every person in Kansas City deserves access to compassionate dental care.

"Your gift is more than a donation. It is an investment in compassionate care, the next generation of healthcare professionals, and the well-being of our community."

The generosity in the room was palpable. Proceeds from ticket sales, raffles, and a spirited round of live and silent auction bidding go directly toward patient care vouchers for fourth-year dental students and senior dental hygiene students — putting real treatment within reach for patients who need it most, while giving future dentists and hygienists the hands-on clinical experience they need to graduate ready to serve. In the past three years alone, this event has delivered more than $150,000 in care to our community.

Between courses of an elegant four-course dinner with curated wine pairings, guests heard from 91ºÚÁÏÍø Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal and were moved by a special presentation from student dentists Taylor Kynaston and Matt Roberts — a powerful reminder of exactly who benefits from every dollar raised. Emcee Steven St. John (B.A. '96) kept the energy high as the room competed fiercely for one-of-a-kind auction prizes. Among the most coveted: a five-night all-inclusive escape to Antigua, World Cup tickets at Arrowhead Stadium, and a truly special offer from School of Dentistry Dean Paul Luepke himself — a three-day golf getaway for three at his private home in Geneva, Wisconsin, featuring championship rounds at Destination Geneva National and a bourbon tasting from the Dean's own personal collection.
